Why 7th taste?

In the past 25 years, I have lived and traveled all around the world from Asia to Europe to Africa to Latin America to North America.  In my journey, I was exposed to the distinct food traditions of many different regions.  Once home in the San Francisco Bay Area, my curious nature lead me to experiment with new recipes on weekends. I am thrilled to share my discovery of these delicious foods filled with interesting personalities.  My guiding cooking principle is to recreate unforgettable meals I had in my journeys around the world with fresh local ingredients.  While further expanding my cooking repertoire, I want to share great meal ideas with other adventurous home chefs.  I am looking forward to turning everyday meals into something extraordinary for both family & friends.   Bon Appétit!

Here in the Northeast we love to have our chestnuts roasting on an open fire, even on the sidewalks of New York City. But, I have got to tell you this Corsican chestnut soup sounds delicious! It’s also still the season for that pumpkin, oxtail and chickpea dish I also read about in your blog. Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Thank you for this blog Diane, it will most certainly help me with my entertaining as I look for some new and exciting dishes to serve up over the next two holidays. Coupling the meals with the right wines is important and since I am not a wine expert it’s a good job for me that you have so nicely put it all together here. Happy Cooking!
